Education
My undergrad degree is from OSU in Communications and I have a Masters in Education (2009)from the Univ. of Akron in grades 7-12 Language Arts/English, where my GPA was a 3.9 . As an adult student obtaining my Masters degree, I found myself more interested in my studies as I realized the importance of studying to reach my goal.
Experience
Currently I am a substitute teacher in the community where I reside. I am also a PRN employee for a company that provides accomodations for those taking professional tests. I have over seven years experience as a substitute teacher and three years experience as a classroom assistant. My love of children and teaching led me to obtain my Masters in Education degree in 2009. I find that children perform better when they understand what they have read, regardless of the subject. I enjoy helping children to discover reading and working with their comprehension. Many students have problems with subjects other than English because comprehending what we have read is necessary for all subject matters. My degree in Education has taught me that children have different learning styles and the most effective teacher will work to discover how your child learns. I have a child who is currently residing in Savannah and one in NYC. I am the step-mother to a 18, 22 and 24 year old.
